Get Ready, Stay Ready: Contracting & Certifications This session would focus on helping businesses move beyond borrowing money to positioning themselves to earn and manage larger, more consistent revenue through government and corporate contracting. Topics could include how procurement works, DBE, MBE/WBE, SBE, WOSB, HUBZone and other state/local certifications, capability statements, NAICS codes, SAM.gov registration, identifying bid opportunities, subcontracting, responding to solicitations, insurance and bonding requirements, and what procurement officers look for when evaluating vendors. We could also potentially bring in partners such as DOTD and/or APEX to provide additional expertise, as well as incorporate corporate supplier diversity opportunities. Participant Takeaway: A “Contracting Readiness Roadmap” outlining registration, certification, and documentation steps. Time: 12p to 1p
